This project was inspired by Roger Ballen's photograph "Head Inside Shirt," which became the starting point for my own reinterpretation, built into a new storyline of its own. The images follow an intelligent, self-assured psychopathologist, who’s proud of her work, who kidnapped a young child and kept her hidden in a basement for years. She treated the child as a subject to practice on, building herself a private portfolio through one session a week. In this project, I take on a double role, as the photographer and as the reporter, the one who captured these images to bring the truth of what happened here out into the world.
