This portrait series was created for GNYP Gallery, capturing Wang within the quiet intensity of his own practice. His work often returns to color as memory itself, blue evoking trade and distance, yellow the desert of his childhood, gold a history of movement and searching.
To photograph him is to sit inside that same tension he paints from.
