A Book Is Not a Book unfolded over three months, a slow-moving project that became as much a self-observation as an outward one, a period of carrying weight on both the heart and the shoulders, while watching others struggle with betrayal, whether in relationships, at work, or within their own families.

Visually, the series drew from cinema itself, the 9:16 frame and the visual language of the Kinoproby group. I was searching for the behaviors that surface in the moment something breaks, the instant betrayal lands, a flash of euphoria tangled with anger, disappointment, and abandonment, followed by a stillness that feels like the calm before the storm, a kind of numbness.

And then what comes next? Does leaving for another country help? Does condemning help? Did sacrifice ever truly help? This is a story that each person reads through their own experience, and in this series, it surfaces through betrayal, isolation, abandonment by one's own family, and a longing for home.
